SEW FUN I (four camps)

A fun and exciting introduction to machine sewing techniques. Sew Fun I will cover essential information for the beginning seamstress. Campers will make pajama pants and a matching tote/carry bag with shoulder straps along with decorated flip-flops. Students will model garments during a brief style show for parents on Friday.

About the instructor: Amy teaches Family and Consumer Science at SJA. Previously, she served as coordinator of the School of Human Ecology at LSU. She has a bachelor of fine arts from LSU. After graduation, she spent a year at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where she studied fashion design and received an associated degree in applied science. She specializes in children’s wear.

Instructor: Linda Weimer
About the Instructor: Linda has been a preschool teacher at Ingleside Methodist Church for the past 11 years and excels in art and design. Since learning to sew in elementary school, she has participated in a variety of sewing, quilting and craft workshops. She has completed a wide range of projects, from sorority gowns to handmade quilts.

Course 1806: June 23-27, 1-4 p.m., open to rising 5th-8th grade girls

SEW FUN II (two camps)

Sew Fun II is for intermediate sewers only. No beginners, please. Along with fun projects, campers will complete a skirt with an invisible zipper and boxer shorts that require a button hole with a drawstring.

Course 1803: June 30-July 3 (Monday-Thursday), 9 a.m.-noon, open to rising 5th-8th grade girls
