Since 1868, SJA has been impacted greatly by our generous community. As we continue to grow in the present and for our future, SJA has a variety of financial needs and appreciates the support received to help meet these needs. Below is a guide to help current and potential donors understand our different needs and identify the areas you most want to support.

Annual Giving Program: SJA relies on three components of the Annual Giving Program – Alumnae Annual Giving, Parents Annual Giving and Friends Annual Giving – to provide educational enhancements for current students. Contributions to the Annual Giving Program go directly into the operating budget and provide educational enhancements. The SJA Board of Directors developed Annual Giving Program Donor Societies in order to recognize the generosity of our many alumnae, parents, friends, parents of alumnae and grandparents who have helped make SJA a strong tradition in the Baton Rouge community. Through these donor societies, donors are recognized for their gifts to SJA’s Annual Giving Program each fiscal year, July 1-June 30.
SJA Foundation: Gifts to the SJA Foundation help to perpetuate the high quality education that everyone has come to expect from St. Joseph’s Academy. The SJA Foundation provides for the long-term stability of the school and is set up to receive many types of gifts and endowed funds. Types of online donations accepted to the SJA Foundation include:
- Honor/Memorial Gifts
- Undesignated Gifts
- Annual Giving
- Scholarship Gifts
Note: When making an Honor/Memorial contribution, please include the following information:
- Make checks payable to SJA Foundation
- Indicate name of person to honor or memorialize
- Indicate your relationship to the person being honored or memorialized
- Include name and address of person to whom the acknowledgment should be sent

Matching Gifts: Many companies offer an employee benefit of matching contributions to a non-profit organization. These company programs match a donation from you or your spouse and increase the impact of your gift. Some companies may not match financial contributions, but they match your service contributions with a financial gift to SJA. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, please check with your human resources department.
