Description:
Our student chapter at SJA is open to interested juniors and seniors. Our monthly meetings focus on increasing awareness of a variety of human rights issues, including political prisoners and women and children's rights, both in the USA and globally. For these areas, we participate in letter-writing campaigns and have guest speakers. Our local focus includes work with the Catholic Community Services on behalf of the Refugee/Immigration program and the death row inmates at Angola Penitentiary, for whom we prepare cards which the Bishop delivers on his annual Christmas visit.
