College Application

College Application Procedure

  1. Completed resume through Prep HQ (preferred), Class of 2009 Parent Insight Form and Former Teacher List are due by the Tuesday after Labor Day.
  2. Decide where you would like to apply. a. You may use Peterson's Guide (found in the Academic Counseling Center offices and at Barnes & Noble). b. Princeton Review also publishes 331 Best Colleges (found in the Academic Counseling Center and at Barnes & Noble). c. Need help? Make an appointment with Ms. Gloria Green.
  3. Forms to request letters of recommendation are linked on the college planning page. Complete the form and meet with Ms. Green about requesting these letters.
  4. Some colleges and universities require that you write one or more essays. If you will be writing an essay, have it checked before submitting. You may want your English teacher to help with this.
  5. Request your official transcript using the transcript request form found on the college planning page. A transcript request form is needed every time you request a transcript for scholarship application purposes or that your transcript be sent to a university.
  6. Universities are strongly encouraging students to apply online. If you are uncomfortable with this, you can print your application and complete it. Mail it along with any required application fees. Once we have your request to send your official transcript, we will mail it to the college of your choice along with any teacher letters of recommendation and/or resume, if needed.
