Teaching Faculty Positions
Qualifications for teaching positions include an undergraduate degree or certification in the subject area. Candidates must be certified to teach or working toward certification. Full-time Theology Teacher
St. Joseph’s Academy seeks a full-time, dynamic and faith-filled theology teacher. Knowledge of the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph is a plus. Candidates must be a practicing member of the Catholic faith and have an undergraduate degree in Catholic Theology or an undergraduate degree in another field with a minimum of 24 hours in Catholic Theology from an accredited Catholic college or university. Advanced degree preferred.

Non-Teaching Faculty Positions
Full-time School Counselor
St. Joseph’s Academy seeks a full-time School Counselor for immediate employment. Preferred candidate will have a master’s degree in School Counseling or Social Work with licensure. A minimum of two years’ experience in school counseling and/or mental health are preferred. Job duties include meeting individually with students and creating and facilitating classroom and small group presentations to discuss academic, personal, social, college and career issues. This individual will consult with and serve as a liaison between students, parents, faculty and administration. This individual will make applications for 504-type accommodations with ACT and the College Board, assist with standardized testing and attend professional workshops, seminars and conferences. Applicants should also have a working knowledge of the college admissions process and career planning.

Staff Positions

Accounts Receivable Accountant
St. Joseph’s Academy seeks a full-time Accounts Receivable, Tuition and Fees Accountant. This position ensures and documents that tuition, fees and discounts are properly billed and collected by recording and monitoring tuition billing, awards, discounts and payments. The position works closely with a third-party vendor and parents to ensure that regular income is collected to maintain the operating budget. 

Minimum qualifications include an accounting degree with 10 years’ experience; technology experience in modifying database reporting from canned software programs; and broad knowledge of GAAP procedures, database management, ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfers and Microsoft Office 365, Excel, SharePoint and Teams. Knowledge in Blackbaud Tuition Management, Blackbaud Financial Aid Management, Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) and online commercial banking is preferred.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high attention to details, exceptional organizational and multitasking skills and be self-motivated with an elevated level of confidentiality and professionalism. The successful candidate will be able to work well under minimal supervision and possess a great attitude and communication skills, both verbally and written.

Maintenance Technician
St. Joseph’s Academy seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician. This person will work with the school’s maintenance department, which is responsible for the day-to-day care of the 15-acre campus and its buildings. The successful candidate will have a strong, practical knowledge of building, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems and will interact with other SJA personnel as well as vendors, engineers and contractors.   
 
General requirements include five years of experience in facility maintenance and repairs; strong computer skills, including facility software and internet research; good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines; ability to interpret blueprints, detailed drawings, field sketches and technical manuals; ability to troubleshoot and problem solve; flexibility to work when needed and to collaborate with other departments as needed; willingness to gain training beneficial to the role as Maintenance Technician; ability to lift and move 40 pounds; and ability to work safely in accordance with SJA, OSHA and other applicable policies.

Custodial and Housekeeping Positions
Custodian: These positions provide routine cleaning inside school buildings and on facility grounds, help with event setup and move boxes and furniture as needed. The successful candidates must be able to operate light cleaning equipment, including floor scrubber, vacuum and power washer. Day and evening shifts are available. Successful candidates should occasionally be willing to work any schedule, including weekends, and able to work indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
