Welcome to St. Joseph's Academy!

We are excited to welcome the class of 2026 and new upperclasswomen for the 2022-2023 academic year. For 153 years, SJA has stood as a pillar of excellence in the Baton Rouge community. Your daughter is now a part of our rich history of educating young women in the spirit and charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Faith development in our Catholic tradition, academic excellence and personal growth are the pillars of life here at SJA. 


Registration for incoming freshmen and new students is now open! Please complete it by visiting our Registration page and following the online process.

Course selections will take place in mid-March. You will receive instructions closer to the time.

March 8-10, 2022: Proficiency Testing and Auditions
March 21, 2022: Course Selections Open (for all new students)
March 22, 2022: Freshman Scheduling Seminar for Parents, 12-1 p.m. or 6-7 p.m.
March 25, 2022: Course Selections Due
April 1, 2022: Final date to make changes to Course Selections.

Freshman Scheduling Seminar

Option 1: Tuesday, March 22, 12-1 p.m., Mother Alice Hall
Option 2: Tuesday, March 22, 6-7 p.m., Academy Student Center

If you have questions about your course selections, you are invited to attend one of two scheduling seminars. Sessions will be offered on Tuesday, March 22, from noon until 1 p.m. and again from 6 until 7 p.m. The day session will be held in Mother Alice Hall (3080 Kleinert Avenue, 70806). Parking will be available along Kleinert Avenue. The evening session will be held in the Academy Student Center located on the corner of Parker and Broussard streets. Parking will be available in the Academy Student Center lot and along Broussard and Parker streets. Please do not park in the lawyers’ client lot or on the grass near the lawyers’ lot.

You will meet and talk to administrators, the academic counselor for your daughter’s class, department chairs and other key people who will answer your questions. You will also receive information about required courses for 9th grade, electives, graduation requirements, TOPS requirements, honors classes/honors diploma and freshman life. You will also receive assistance in completing the online registration and course selection processes, if needed. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend one of the scheduling sessions.
