Tuition Assistance & Reduced-Cost Meal Plan

For the SJA Tuition Policy, please visit Tuition & Financial Aid.

Tuition Assistance:
The SJA Board of Directors provides limited funding for tuition assistance. Families applying for tuition assistance must do so annually. This application is done through Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST). This secure, online service streamlines the data-collection process and ensures that financial aid is granted to those families who are most in need. FAST will collect and compile the data and make recommendations based upon factors specific to the local economy; however, the SJA Tuition Assistance Committee will make all final decisions regarding financial aid.

The online application process for tuition assistance for the 2019-2020 academic year begins February 1 and ends March 25, 2019. A link to the FAST website will be posted on the SJA website under the Admissions dropdown on February 1, 2019. Along with a $45 processing fee, a copy of your filed 2018 federal and state tax returns, with supporting documentation, must be submitted by mail or uploaded electronically to FAST by May 1, 2019, to complete the application process. The Tuition Assistance Committee will begin processing completed applications on May 8, 2019. Pre-addressed envelopes are available in the Accounts Receivable office. If you do not have access to the internet, you are welcome to come to campus to complete the application.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Jane Pardi at 388-2234 or pardij@sjabr.org.

Reduced-Cost Meal Plan:
SJA partners with SAGE Dining Services, a private vendor that serves Catholic and private schools and universities across the country. Unlike our previous partner, the Child Nutrition Program of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, SAGE is not affiliated with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the federally assisted meal program.

SJA is committed to providing a limited amount of assistance to families who would have qualified for the NSLP. Click here for the eligibility guidelines and application for 2019-2020. Complete and return the application by March 25, 2019, to St. Joseph’s Academy, ATTN: Jane Pardi, 3015 Broussard Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
