Graduate Named Recipient of Loyola University’s 2023 Integritas Vitae Award

Amy Cryex Sins, a 1994 graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, is this year’s recipient of Loyola University New Orleans’ Integritas Vitae Award, one of the highest honors the university bestows. The accolade, which recognizes those living a “life of integrity,” will be presented at the annual 1912 Society Dinner on November 10 following the inauguration of the university’s 18th president, Dr. Xavier Cole.

Amy graduated from Loyola University New Orleans in 1998 with a degree in communications. She lives in New Orleans, where she is a chef, speaker, author and philanthropist. She has started a successful culinary event business, a boutique hotel and a publishing company. She has written an award-winning cookbook. She is also a culinary historian, radio show host and a keynote speaker who continues to inspire aspiring chefs, entrepreneurs and food enthusiasts alike.

“This award is a testament to Chef Sins’ unwavering commitment to excellence in the culinary world and beyond,” Dr. Cole said. “We want to recognize her dedication to her craft, as well as her exceptional character and the impact she’s made on our community.”

Following her passion to “serve the dear neighbor,” Amy established a disaster relief organization, Fill the Needs, which helps organize and deliver food, water and supplies to those affected by natural disasters and serves refugees around the world, including families in Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Closer to home, Amy is involved with several New Orleans-area charities, including Son of a Saint and Second Harvest Food Bank. She served on Loyola University’s alumni board from 2008 to 2017 and as president of the Alumni Association from 2012 to 2014.

The Integritas Vitae Award will be presented on November 10 at the Roosevelt Hotel. The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at loyno.edu/1912.
