137 Graduates, Current Students Earn AP Scholar Awards

One hundred thirty-seven St. Joseph’s Academy graduates and current seniors and juniors have earned AP Scholar Awards for 2019 in recognition of their exceptional achievement on college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) exams. These outstanding scholars earned credit at Louisiana colleges and universities as well as most four-year schools in the United States. 

In 2019, 385 Academy students took AP courses, with 301 students, or 81 percent, scoring a 3 or higher on their AP exams to earn college credit.

SJA had three National AP Scholars. They earned an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. They are 2019 graduates Madison Boudreaux, Sydney Clebert and Anna Claire LeJeune.

SJA had 40 AP Scholar with Distinction award recipients. They earned an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. They are 2019 graduates Lauren Arceneaux, Ashlan Belanger, Abby Blaize, Margaret Blouin, Anna Borne, Madison Boudreaux, Sydney Clebert, Anna Couhig, Danielle DePierri, Emily DeSoto, Raeann Didier, Amelia Dittmar, Drue Gautreau, Anna Hampshire, Julia Henderson, Breann Keowen, Emily Kukura, Anna Claire LeJeune, Angelle Martin, Emily Martin, Maryn Matthews, Andrea Matus, Grace O’Neill, Lauren Saunders, Taylor Silvey, Ashlynn Sorrells, Aliya Trapp, Malorey Uzee, Parker Wilson and Grace Wisdom and current seniors Stephanie Armond, Molly Blouin, Peyton Locklar, Mary Marchand, Eloise Nelson, Shreya Reshamwala, Kaelyn Smith, Lark Smith, Thuc Nhan Tran and Faith Woods.

Ten graduates and 17 current seniors qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. They are 2019 graduates Ella Barhorst, Olivia Devall, Sinclair Green, Katherine Landry, Skylar Mancuso, Sydney Melder, Grace Morrison, Elise Saloom, Kate Stanford and Hannah Grace Vautrot and current seniors Anna Blanchard, Jeanne Brierre, Cecilia Campesi, Brennan Cascio, Mary Catherine Daniels, Emma Durnin, Jenay Hansen, Catherine Hebert, Alison Hecht, Sara Mayeux, Eleana Miller, Anna Montanio, Emma Routier, Madison Roy, Claire Smith, Claire Marie Tate and Kendall Willard.

Twenty-six 2019 graduates, 43 current seniors and one current junior are AP Scholar award recipients. They received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. New this year, students at schools offering the AP Capstone program can earn an AP Capstone Diploma or an AP Seminar and Research Certificate. 

Fourteen members of the class of 2019 earned the AP Capstone Diploma, granted to students with scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP exams of their choosing. They were Ashlan Belanger, Abby Blaize, Margaret Blouin, Madison Boudreaux, Sydney Clebert, Anna Couhig, Anna Hampshire, Breann Keowen, Emily Martin, Andrea Matus, Maurie Morris, Adeline Roemer and Kate Stanford.

Alexandra Thibodeaux, a 2019 graduate, earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate, which is granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
