Bowling Team Remains Unbeaten in District
The St. Joseph’s Academy bowling team improved to 4-1 on the season and remained undefeated in district play with a 25-2 win over Central High. The February 13 match was played at All-Star Lanes.
Junior Ava Doucet had what is believed to be the best series in school history with a 735, which included a high game of 276. Junior Molly Milligan added a 526 series, and first-year bowlers Jalaysia Queen, a junior, and Sadie Bozeman, a sophomore, both threw personal high games of 142 and 112, respectively. Freshman Jolie Vidrine also had a new high game of 138.
“The team continued to show significant progress as they twice had a new season high team game total, in games one (901) and three (926),” said coach Garth Ridge. “Total pins for the match, 2665, were also a new season high.”
Next up is a key district match against number three-ranked Denham Springs on February 17 at All Star Lanes.
