Cross Country Team Runs Away with Round Table Title

The St. Joseph’s Academy cross country team placed all seven scorers in the top 20 to win the 44th annual Round Table Run hosted by Episcopal High School on September 10. The meet was held at Highland Road Park.

SJA scored 34 points to finish on top of the 27-team field. There were 243 runners in the race. Rounding out the top five were Episcopal (102), E.D. White (121), Vandebilt Catholic (175) and Mt. Carmel (209).

Sophomore Michelle Daigle led the Redstickers’ charge, finishing third in 18:13.04. Places of finish and times were as follows: junior Elise Brown, fourth, 18:15.50 (personal record); junior Hannah Vaughan, seventh place, 18:33.48 (season best); sophomore Ainsley Brignac, 10th place, 19:22.66 (personal record); junior Grace Rennhoff, 16th place, 20:02.42; junior Madison Mannino, 17th place, 20:06.17 (season best); and junior Kaitlyn Francise, 20th place, 20:17.89 (season best).

Next up for the Redstickers is the Southern Showcase 5K in Huntsville, Alabama, on September 17.
