With senior Michelle Daigle once again setting the pace, the St. Joseph’s Academy cross country team scored 66 points to win the Pete Boudreaux ’59 Invitational on October 12 at Highland Road Park. The three-mile varsity race featured 34 teams.
Rounding out the top five were E.D. White (192), Episcopal (196), St. Thomas More (214) and Byrd (214).
Daigle finished first in 17:03.40. She was followed by Emmaline Ritter, ninth place, 18:31.55 (personal record); Hope Lemoine, 15th place, 18:46.26 (personal record); Sara Pasquier, 20th place, 19:00.25; Charlotte Beck, 26th place, 19:12.19; Tiana Khuri, 28th place, 19:17.27 (season best); and Melia Hooper, 34th place, 19:27.11.
In the girls’ three-mile JV race, SJA placed seven runners in the top eight spots to score a perfect 15 points. The field featured 10 teams.
Order of finish and times were as follows: Camille Vaughan, first place, 19:57.8; Cate Barbier, second place, 20:04.1 (personal record); Anna Amedee, third place, 20:11.5; Audree Comeaux, fourth place, 20:18.9 (personal record); Grace Martin, fifth place, 20:23.5; Kaitlyn Garidel, sixth place, 20:39.3; and Noella Fields, eighth place, 20:53.7.
Next up for the Redstickers is the Watson High School Cross Country Classic on October 19. The varsity race, hosted by Mississippi College in Clinton, begins at 8:40 a.m.
