Cross Country Team Wins Round Table Run
With four runners in the top seven, the St. Joseph’s Academy cross country team turned in a dominating performance to win the 45th annual Round Table Run hosted by Episcopal High School on September 9. The meet was held at Highland Road Park.
SJA scored 28 points to finish on top of the 27-team field, which featured 267 runners. Rounding out the top five were Mt. Carmel (109), E.D. White (141), Isidore Newman (194) and Vandebilt Catholic (209).
Senior Grace Rennhoff led the Redstickers’ charge, finishing second in a three-mile personal record time 17:50.29. Order of finish and times were as follows: senior Elise Brown, 3rd place, 18:16.49 (season best); junior Michelle Daigle, 4th place, 18:26.02 (season best); senior Hannah Vaughan, 7th place, 18:46.53 (season best); senior Kaitlyn Francise, 12th place, 19:11.94 (personal record); freshman Charlotte Beck, 14th place, 19:16.87 (personal record); junior Sara Pasquier, 24th place, 19:46.19 (personal record); junior Melia Hooper, 29th place, 19:54.47 (season best); sophomore Tiana Khuri, 32nd place, 19:59.56 (personal record); and Stella Vincent, 42nd place, 20:35.01.
The JV race was unscored, but results are as follows: senior Madison Mannino, 1st place, 19:35.1 (season best); senior Julia Monzon, 2nd place, 20:03.1 (season best); sophomore Grace Martin, 3rd place, 20:49.3 (season best); junior Emmaline Rigger, 4th place, 20:58.2 (personal record); freshman Hope Lemoine, 5th place, 21:04.6 (personal record); freshman Sophia Otzenberger, 8th place, 21:32.6 (personal record); freshman Camille Vaughan, 9th place, 21:44.9 (personal record); freshman Noella Fields, 10th place, 22:01.1 (personal record); junior Kaiser Stentiford, 11th place, 22:21.3; junior Ainsley Brignac, 12th place, 22:34.5; and freshman Audree Comeaux, 15th place, 22:48.2 (personal record).
Next up for the Redstickers are two meets on September 16: the Southern Showcase 5K in Huntsville, Alabama, and the LCA Knights Invitational in Lafayette.
