The St. Joseph’s Academy cross country team placed five runners in the top nine finishers to finish first in the 46th annual Round Table Run hosted by Episcopal High School on September 14. The meet was held at Highland Road Park.
SJA scored 27 points to dominate the 24-team field in the three-mile varsity race. Rounding out the top five were E.D. White (99), Parkview Baptist (131), Mount Carmel Academy (144) and Dutchtown (189).
Senior Michelle Daigle led the Redstickers’ charge, finishing second in 17:58.87. Order of finish and times were as follows: Charlotte Beck, fifth place, 20:05.81; Sara Pasquier, seventh place,
20:10.44; Hope Lemoine, eighth place, 20:10.99; Emmaline Ritter, ninth place, 20:14.87; Melia Hooper, 12th place, 20:26.51; Kaitlyn Garidel, 21st place, 21:03.73; Anna Amedee, 29th place, 21:24.42; Sophia Otzenberger, 38th place, 21:51.99; and Ainsley Brignac, 68th place, 23:19.71.
The JV race was unscored. Order of finish and times follow: Olivia Crews, first place, 21:05.8; Tiana Khuri, second place, 21:50.5; Cate Barbier, third place, 22:08.3; Noella Fields, fourth place, 22:28.2; Camille Sims, fifth place, 22:28.8; Camille Vaughan, eighth place, 22:59.6; Ellie Rose Blake, ninth place, 23:00.3; Audree Comeaux, 10th place, 23:11.3; and Abbey Haefner, 18th place, 24.44.1.
