Dance Students Perform Spring Show

Students in St. Joseph’s Academy’s dance classes presented the 2025 Spring Dance Show on April 9. Two evening performances were held in the LSU Union Theatre.

The theme of this year’s concert was Walk of Fame. It featured pre-show senior solos and performances by each dance class choreographed to songs by an artist featured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, creating a star-studded evening of music and movement.

“It was nothing short of spectacular,” said dance teacher Jade McCune. “Our dancers have poured their hearts into rehearsals all semester, and their passion and dedication lit up the stage. The energy from the audience was electric, fueling our performers to deliver their best show yet.”

Alyse Carriere is also one of SJA’s dance instructors. “What a night celebrating the SJA Dance Department,” she said. “The students had a great time performing on stage, and we teachers had an awesome time watching from the wings. We’re so proud of everyone and thankful for the opportunity to put together such professional productions each semester.”

Senior Ainsley Dubroc said the performance was memorable. “I always look forward to performing in the dance show,” she said. “It’s such a fun experience. This year was bittersweet because four years were coming to an end, but I’m so happy to have been a part of it.”

Senior Virginia Lauve said it was a special evening. She is grateful for the opportunity to have learned from the SJA dance faculty for four years and to show off their choreography and hard work for the last time. “Representing such wonderful teachers and dancing alongside my best friends in the show was a great note to end on for the year and my time with SJA’s dance program,” she said. “My favorite dance that I performed was Liz Hamilton’s Alicia Keys number. I loved the lyrical style and highlighting my great friend Abby Grier in her spotlight moment.”
