Freshman Retreat Held at SJA
St. Joseph’s Academy freshmen gathered on campus on November 10 for their class retreat. The theme of the day was Loved by God.
Led by senior Student Ministers, the freshmen enjoyed small group discussions, activities and games, journaling, witness testimonies, Adoration and Reconciliation. Father Josh Zelden, SJA’s chaplain, was the celebrant for the retreat mass. He was joined by Father Brent Maher and Father Alex Harb for Adoration and Reconciliation.
Campus Minister Chelsea Colomb and Assistant Campus Minister Rachael Duchmann organized the experience.
Colomb said the day’s activities and discussions helped the freshmen fully explore the retreat’s theme. “I hope each of the freshmen understand that all the different things of the world vying for our attention do not define us and truly recognize their identity as a beloved daughter of God,” she said. “I hope they always look forward to their grade-level retreats to grow in relationship with our God and with one another.”

The SJA Dads’ Club provided lunch.
