Latin Club Participates in State Convention
The St. Joseph’s Academy Latin Club finished third overall in the club sweepstakes at the Louisiana Junior Classical League (LJCL) Convention. The gathering of Latin clubs from across the state was held February 21-23 on the campus of the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches.
Students competed in a variety of games and activities that showcased their skills in academics, athletics and the arts. The club brought home several awards, including first place in T-shirt, first place in Spirit, second place in Banner and third place in Scrapbook. The Upper Certamen Team finished in third place.
Senior London Dupree served as 2024-2025 LJCL executive board president, and junior Grace Buras served as technology coordinator. Buras was elected to the 2025-2026 LJCL executive board as communications coordinator.
Junior Edie Crow was elected 2025-2026 LJCL executive board president. She also placed second overall in individual sweepstakes.
Convention chaperones were Latin Club sponsor Leigh Grace Rouyer and parent Meghan LaBauve.
