Runners Compete in Prestigious Nike Cross Regionals

The St. Joseph’s Academy cross country team competed in the prestigious Nike Cross South Regional Championship in College Station, Texas. The Redstickers competed in the 5K Championship race and 5K Rising Stars race for freshmen and sophomores. 

The meet was held November 24 and featured top teams from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Mississippi. 

The Redstickers finished 27th in the girls’ championship race, which featured 33 complete teams with 307 scored finishers. In the girls’ Rising Stars race, the Redstickers finished second out of 15 complete teams with 256 scored finishers.

SJA’s runners and their order of finish and times in the championship race were Audrey Manda, 154th place, 19:49.1; Hope Lemoine, 170th place, 19:56.3; Cate Barbier, 187th place, 20:09.4; Grace Martin, 236th place, 20:52.7; Tiana Khuri, 237th place, 20:55.2; and Noella Fields, 246th place, 21:04.6.

SJA’s Rising Stars runners and their order of finish and times were Hannah Schneider, 3rd place, 18:56.3; Kaitlyn Garidel, 38th place, 20:50.9; Ava Picou, 64th place, 21:23.1; Anna Amedee, 75th place, 21:35.6; Ava Singleton, 77th place, 21:42.2; and Eleanor Blake, 102nd place, 22:09.2.
