With four of its scoring runners finishing in the top seven, the St. Joseph’s Academy cross country team rolled to victory in the 43rd Round Table Run, hosted by Episcopal High. The meet was held September 11 at Highland Road Park.
The meet featured 22 teams and 172 runners. SJA scored 23 points without three of its top seven runners to finish ahead of Ruston (47), Episcopal of Acadiana (199), Mandeville (214) and University Lab (227).
SJA’s seven scorers and their times were as follows: freshman Michelle Daigle, 2nd place, 18:53.85; sophomore Grace Rennhoff, 3rd place, 18:55.73; sophomore Hannah Vaughan, 4th place, 19:00.70; junior Emma Claire Hendry, 7th place, 19:16.69; sophomore Stella Vincent, 12th place, 19:37.65; senior Alexis Napoli, 16th place, 19:54.21; and senior Elise Jones, 21st place, 20:19.49.
Next up for the Redstickers is the Ponchatoula High School Invitational on September 18 on the PHS campus. The varsity race starts at 7:30 a.m. followed by the JV race at 10:10 a.m.
