Seventh Annual Sticker Scramble a Success

The St. Joseph’s Academy Dads’ Club and Athletic Department joined forces to host the seventh annual Sticker Scramble on April 1 at Greystone Golf and Country Club. Golfers enjoyed lunch, a four-person scramble, dinner and prizes. 

First place gross went to the team of Jamey Rothkamm, Lou Daniel, Will Wilton and Roy Hill with a score of 55. First place net finishers were Lisa Morris, Michelle Morris, Grant Larson and L.R. Holden with a score of 57. This team also captured the Alum Cup as the foursome with lowest gross score and at least one SJA graduate. Michelle is a 2009 graduate.

Second place net went to the team of Matt Smith, Lester Lee, Bradley Gremillion and Kevin Landry (60). Third place net finishers were Paxton Hester, Brett Brinson, Steve Greer and Denny Bass (61).

Closest to the pin honors went to Kevin Landry on hole 3 and Michelle Morris on hole 15. The straightest drive was hit by Tom Baggett, while Jim Rabb had the day’s longest drive.

The tournament was chaired by Ron McDaniel. Serving on the planning committee were Al Moreau, Hudson Lemoine, Matt Smith, Monte Danos, Paxton Hester, Reid Bateman, Steve Greer, Todd Jackson, SJA Athletic Director Dorinda Beaumont and Mission Advancement Director Meg Gerald.

“I am especially thankful for the Dads’ Club and the 2019 Sticker Scramble committee for their help and enthusiasm,” Gerald said. “To all those involved in the Sticker Scramble, thank you for your generosity, sponsorship, volunteerism and participation.”  

Major sponsors for this year’s Sticker Scramble were Price LeBlanc Lexus (hole-in-one car sponsor), BRDP (beverage stations sponsor), GMFS and Investar (shirt sponsors) and SOS Medical Supply (hat sponsor). 

Major prize sponsors were Raymond James and Lake After Hours.

Food sponsors were Brew-Bacher’s (poboy lunch) and the Catering Cajun (boiled crawfish and steak bites dinner).

Beverage sponsors were Coca Cola Bottling and Crescent Crown Distributing.
