St. Joseph’s Academy recognized current students who achieved academic distinction during the 2023-2024 school year at the Academic Awards Ceremony, held the evening of September 26 in the Academy Student Center. 

Principal Stacia Andricain welcomed the large gathering of students and their parents and led them in prayer. 

Dean of Curriculum and Instruction Melissa Brocato introduced the students who earned one of three levels of an AP Scholar Award for 2024. Recognized as AP Scholars for receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams were Charlotte Alexander, Sage Allen, Charley Bergeron, Chaillie Anne Daniel, Macy Davis, Mia Demouy, Haley Faucheux, Alysse Fee, Abby Grier, Aubrey Harvey, Kate Hebert, Adeline Hedges, Anna Clare Hertel, Margaret Johnson, Lily May, Abigail Miller, Mackenzie O'Brien, Kate Palmintier, Soo Park, Sara Pasquier, Krina Patel, Caroline Roberts, Lanna Rodrigue, Jessica Ross, Nola Grace Savoie, Evelyn Schaff, Rachel Schroeder and Emery Zeringue.

Dean of Academics Aubrey DeJohn explained that students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the end of each academic year receive either an academic letter or academic bar. Students who attain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 first receive an academic letter; students who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 then receive an academic bar.

DeJohn called forth the students who were honored as part of the College Board’s National Recognition Program. Receiving the National Hispanic Recognition Award were Gabriela Gallardo and Anna Kate Terrell. Earning the National African American Recognition Award was Kearra Grisby. Receiving the National First-Generation Recognition Award were Connie Chau and Hannah Deshotel. 

DeJohn also recognized National Merit semifinalists Mia Barfield and Audrey Elliott and commended students Callie LaBauve, Isabelle Lieux, Rachael Saunders and Kenzie Stentiford. 

Senior Lana Nguyen closed the ceremony by leading the singing of the alma mater.
