SJA Holds Holy Thursday Service
St. Joseph’s Academy came together as a school community on April 17 for a Holy Thursday Service in the Academy Student Center. The solemn, poignant service, written and directed by theology faculty member Hugo Andricain, reflected on the choices made by Jesus and other central figures in the Gospel. It called us to reflect upon our own choices and to be open to choosing to follow God’s call.
The service included readings, prayers and songs, as actors provided visual representations of what audience members were hearing.
Readers were Caroline Roussel, Sophia Montalbano, Hannah Schiro and theology faculty member Timothy LaBauve as the voice of Jesus.
Actors were Isabella Walton as Jesus, Camille Coco, Elizabeth Bertucci, Addison Macha, Hannah Champagne, Louisa deBlieux, Sophia Simoneaux, Anne Tanory, Isabella Walker, Cecilia Hanemann, Caroline Minvielle and Helen Hannaman.
Lending their musical gifts to the service were vocalists Gianna Lavastida, Emily Vennen, Madeline McDaniel, Lauren Roy, Sophie Stelly, Riley LeBlanc and Donald Spann; Hugo Andricain, guitar; and Danielle Laird, keyboard.
Technical support was provided by Taylor Templet, audio; Jeremy McDaniel, lighting; Lori Kaiser, staging; and Taylor Martina, live stream.
