SJA Hosts Open House 2019

St. Joseph’s Academy hosted Open House 2019 on October 17, welcoming more than 1,300 visitors to campus to enjoy the SJA experience firsthand.

Girls in grades 6-8 and their parents enjoyed tours of campus and visiting with current students, administrators, faculty, staff and parents. Student Ambassadors led the campus tours, showcasing student performances and demonstrations in the arts, academics, athletics, sports medicine, the STEM and Innovation & Design labs and the SJA/CHS Marching Band and Bruinettes.

Guests saw the volleyball and basketball teams practicing and watched the SJA cheerleaders and Red Steppers dance team perform. They also saw student technicians at work in the student-run Help Desk. Tours ended in the Dining Hall, where guests enjoyed refreshments, talking with faculty, staff and administrators and posing for pictures.

The evening was planned and coordinated by the SJA Admissions Team of Meredith Smith and Leighann King. The SJA Mothers’ Club was in charge of decorations for the evening, helping with the post-tour reception and assisting with greeting prospective students and parents. The SJA Dads’ Club provided the pre-Open House meal for faculty/staff and volunteers and helped with security and parking.
