Softball Team Ends 2026 Season
The 2026 season ended for the St. Joseph’s Academy softball team with an appearance in the regional round of the LHSAA Division I (Select) playoffs. Seeded No. 11, SJA notched a 17-0 bidistrict-round victory over No. 22 Woodlawn High on April 17. The Redstickers then fell to No. 6 St. Thomas More 12-2 in the regional round on April 22.
The Redstickers finished the regular season with a 15-14 record. Coach Amanda Henley said that 2026 was marked by growth. “This season wasn’t just about wins and losses,” she said. “We competed against tough competition all season, and while the results weren’t always what we hoped for, the adversity tested us. Through those challenges, we came together, supported one another and became more connected as a team. By the end, it was about how much we improved, how we competed and how we grew together.”
Senior Madeleine Seely said the team worked together to overcome challenges. “Our challenge was staying focused on the game and not losing ourselves when we made an error,” she said, adding, “I will remember all the friendships we made as a team.”
