Sticker Stampede a Success

Alumnae, friends, students and parents turned out on October 29 for the 2022 Sticker Stampede 10K, 5K and Fun Runs. The on-campus event was presented by Varsity Sports and hosted by the St. Joseph’s Academy Alumnae Association.

It was a triumphant return for the popular fundraiser, sidelined since 2019 by COVID.  Click here for race results. 

After the races, runners and visitors enjoyed the Champion Square Block Party featuring complimentary food provided by Capitol City Produce, New York Bagel, Ronnie’s Boudin, SAGE Dining Services and Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux and complimentary beverages provided by Coca-Cola and Crescent Crown. There was also a special kids’ area with a bounce house and fun activities. Champion Square was sponsored by Audi Baton Rouge. 

T-shirt sponsors for the event were Drs. Jimmy Lalonde (BROC) and Elise Scallan (LENTS). Timing sponsor was MAPP Construction. 

Gold Level sponsors were Bateman Law Firm; Baton Rouge General Physicians - Bella Family Medical Clinic; Envōc; and Francise Pharmacy.

Katie Jeter Valenciano ’04 and Megan St. Germain ’11 were co-chairs of this year’s planning committee. Also helping to make the day a success were numerous alumnae, students and parents who helped before, during and after the event. Also adding to the day were the SJA Red Steppers and Cheerleaders, Sister Chris Pologa, Alana Buckley ’22, the SJA Sticker Shop, Tre Hendry, Patrick O’Brian & Jonathan “Juba” Dziuba from FRESHJUNKIE Racing, Baton Rouge EMS and Police Department, the SJA maintenance staff and the health and PE department.
