The St. Joseph’s Academy swim team celebrated the successes of the 2024 season with a special awards ceremony on January 9 in the Fife Student Commons.
Coaches Jimmy Roberts and Nan Murtagh presented participation certificates, varsity letters and special awards. Coach Roberts recapped the season, in which the team finished as the runner-up in the LHSAA Division I Swim Meet and won its 23rd consecutive Capital City Swim League Championship. He thanked the swimmers for their spirit, dedication and love for each other.
Earning their fourth varsity letters were seniors Madeline Oubre, Mignon Prochaska, Caroline Roberts and Lyla Roper.
Seven seniors were honored for being named to the All-Metro All-Academic Team, the LHSAA All-State All-Academic Division Team and the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association All-American All-Academic Team. They were Kearra Grisby, Madeline Oubre, Mignon Prochaska, Caroline Roberts, Lyla Roper, Rachel Schroeder and Katie Toncrey.
Recognized for being named to the All-Metro Team for 2024 were Kearra Grisby, Audrey Lemoine, Molly Mayo, Madeline Oubre, Mary Claire Roberts, Caroline Roberts, Riley Roedel and Lyla Roper.
Individual and relay All-State Team members recognized were Molly Mayo, Riley Roedel, Lyla Roper and Mary Claire Roberts. Relay All-State Team members were Kearra Grisby, Audrey Lemoine and Caroline Roberts.
Caroline Roberts and Caroline Roussel were honored for serving as captains for the 2024 season.

Most Valuable Swimmer: Lyla Roper
Outstanding Angel: freshman Riley Roedel, sophomore Molly Mayo, junior Audrey Lemoine and senior Caroline Roberts

Angel Spirit Award: Caroline Roussel
Comeback Award: Ava Schoen
