Swim Team Dominates in Second Meet
The St. Joseph’s Academy swim team competed in the second Capital City Swim League meet of the 2022 season, scoring 636 points in a dominating performance. Second-place Baton Rouge High scored 364 points in the seven-team meet, held at Crawfish Aquatics. Rounding out the field were Dutchtown (219), East Ascension (130), Ascension Christian (84), West Feliciana (65) and Plaquemine (56).
“At the start of each meet, our intentions are for the girls to compete to the best of their abilities and try their hardest,” said coach Ali Buchart. “Per the usual, the girls did that, which led to our success. We won every event with the exception of one relay. The environment was uplifting and exciting.”
SJA’s top four finishers in each event are as follows:
200 Medley Relay: Lyla Roper, Audrey Lemoine, Kate Fawley and Anna Guidroz, 1st place, 1:57.96: Grace Jackson, Auldyn Faulk, Claudia Magee and Vincenza Vendetto, 3rd place, 2:11.48
