The St. Joseph’s Academy swim team won the first Capital City Swim League meet of the year. With first-place finishes in all three relay events and in six of the eight individual events, the Redstickers scored 618 points to finish well ahead of runner-up St. Amant (314) and third-place University High (175). The meet was held September 14 at Crawfish Aquatics.
“SJA swimmers had another great meet in the 2024 season with outstanding racing, 26 lifetime best-event swims and excellent team spirit,” said head coach Jimmy Roberts. “Our seniors and upperclasswomen displayed wonderful leadership, and our freshman swimmers are making significant contributions.”
Finishing in the top three of each event were the following:
200-yard medley relay: Lyla Roper, Molly Mayo, Audrey Lemoine and Caroline Roberts, 1st place, 1:56.20

Next up for SJA is a meet in Thidodaux on September 21. The team will face off against Vandebilt Catholic and E.D. White.
