The St. Joseph’s Academy swim team finished first in the Capital City Swim League High School Invitational on September 28. Winning six of eight individual events and all three relays, the Redstickers scored 582 points to finish ahead of Mt. Carmel Academy (362) and Episcopal (290). The meet was held at Crawfish Aquatics.
Rounding out the field were University High (172), Isidore Newman (126) and Parkview Baptist (48).
“The SJA girls showed tremendous resilience in another mid-season meet with great race efforts,” said coach Jimmy Roberts. “Competing for the fourth Saturday in a row, SJA swimmers used training and determination to outrace competitors in two very competitive relay events and close finishes in three individual events. Swimmers continue to display great improvement, with 20 event lifetime best times posted in the meet.”
