The St. Joseph’s Academy swim team closed out the regular season with a resounding victory in the October 26 Capital City Swim League meet at Crawfish Aquatics. The swimmers finished the regular season with a 6-0 mark.
SJA dominated the six-team field, finishing with 551 points. Rounding out the top three were Denham Springs (288) and University High (201). Academy swimmers won seven individual events and all three relay events, posting 12 lifetime best times and 25 season best times.
Finishing in the top three of each event were the following:
200 freestyle: Molly Mayo, 1st place, 2:01.45; Sydney Kline, 2nd place, 2:06.90
200 medley relay: Lyla Roper, Madeline Oubre, Audrey Lemoine and Kearra Grisby, 1st place, 1:59.81
200 individual medley: Mary Roberts, 1st place, 2:22.39
50 freestyle: Lyla Roper, 1st place, 26.42; Riley Roedel, 2nd place, 26.56; Cate Clapinski, 3rd place, 26.69
100 freestyle: Katie Toncrey, 1st place, 59.74; Ava Schoen, 2nd place, 1:01.48; Amelia Hartdegen, 3rd place, 1:02.03
500 freestyle: Audrey Lemoine, 1st place, 5:35.66; Isabella Vargas, 2nd place, 5:44.18; Caroline Babin, 3rd place, 5:53.13
200 freestyle relay: Molly Mayo, Riley Roedel, Katie Toncrey and Caroline Roberts, 1st place, 1:45.52
100 backstroke: Ava Schoen, 1st place, 1:05.39; Sydney Kline, 2nd place, 1:05.72
100 breaststroke: Stella Lanasa, 1st place, 1:16.42; Alex Payne, 3rd place, 1:17.80

Next up is the Capital City Swim League Championships. Preliminary rounds take place on November 1 followed by the finals on November 2.
