Twelve Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent
April 16 was an historic day for the St. Joseph’s Academy athletic department, as 12 seniors signed their national letters of intent to compete at the collegiate level next year.
A special signing ceremony, held in the Academy Student Center, was attended by a large gathering of family members, teammates, friends, faculty/staff members and coaches.
Three student-athletes will run cross country on the collegiate level: Michelle Daigle, Louisiana State University; Emmaline Ritter, Rhodes College; and Ainsley Brignac, Nicholls State University. Estelle LeBoeuf will join the gymnastics team at State University New York Brockport.
Four cheerleaders inked their commitment papers: Layla Benson, Katelyn Meliet and Alexandra Louque will cheer at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Ella Kate Falgoust will cheer at the University of West Georgia. Two soccer players signed their national letters of intent: Gracie Davis, Mississippi College, and Angelina Rispone, Nicholls State University.
Two track and field athletes will join collegiate teams next year: Alexandria Stewart, McNeese State University, and Dillon Landry, Louisiana Tech University.
